Pakistan and Russia jointly arranged three day technical session parleys the Pakistan Stream Gas Pipeline (PSGP). The three-day technical session was in furtherance to the Heads of Terms agreement that was finalised during the last meeting. At the 3 day technical parleys both the parties agreed in principle to finalise the Shareholder Agreement of the project at the earliest, so that Project Company can be incorporated in Pakistan by Pakistan and Russian parties.
The Russian delegation was led by Vladimir I Shcherbatykh, CEO and other representatives of Pakstream LLC, a Russian nominated entity under the Inter-Governmental Agreement (IGA) signed between Pakistan and Russian Federation in May 2021.
The Pakistani side was represented by Dr Arshad Mahmood, secretary, Ministry of Energy (Petroleum Division), Syed Zikria Ali Shah, Managing Director, ISGS, (Pakistan side nominated entity under IGA), Directorate General (Gas), Directorate General (Liquid Gas), the Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Company Limited, and the Sui Southern Gas Company Limited.
Both sides deliberated on the technical specifications of the pipeline, design parameters and transport of RLNG from Karachi to Kasur.
During the meeting both sides reaffirmed that adequate provisions would be planned to connect the pipeline with Underground Gas Storages Projects in Sindh and the TAPI Gas Pipeline crossing point in Multan.
Both sides will continue to exchange notes, relevant data, and information on design documents. This project will be the forerunner of the growth of the SUI companies in terms of enhancement of technical and operational capacities.
Both the delegations reaffirmed their commitment to the project ensuring highest standards of technical, quality parameters and maximum utilisation of Pakistani resources.
