With a population of more than 200 million, Pakistan is a nation that is quickly developing. The need for access to information and communication technologies (ICTs) to assist social, economic, and political growth rises along with the population. Pakistan is not an exception to the rule that information technology (IT) is a major force behind economic progress everywhere.
In order to promote economic expansion, the development of jobs, and increased access to technology, the Pakistani government has been making large expenditures in IT services and infrastructure. Initiated by the government, such as the “Digital Pakistan Vision” and the “Pakistan Software Export Board,” these programs aim to advance the growth of the IT industry. The “Pakistan Software Houses Association” was also founded by the nation to aid in the development of the IT sector.
The private sector has made investments in IT services and infrastructure in addition to government programs. Internet users have increased dramatically in Pakistan during the past ten years. There were more than 24 million internet users in Pakistan in 2017, according to the International Telecommunication Union. By 2025, it’s anticipated that this figure will surpass 40 million.
A variety of educational programs have further helped Pakistan’s IT sector expand. The government has created a number of institutions and universities with a focus on IT and associated subjects. The “Computer Literacy Movement” and the “Computer Education for Everyone” are two government-sponsored programs that aim to increase Computer literacy among the general public.
The forecast for Pakistan’s IT industry is generally favorable. The nation is well-positioned to become a leader in the IT sector in the next years with ongoing investment in infrastructure, services, and education.
This is best opportunity for our youth that increase the skill in IT and make money in USD and participate to economic growth of Pakistan.
