The first IT Expo & Award 2020 entitled “Digital Faisalabad” will be held in April. According to Rana Sikandar-e-Azam Khan, President Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FCCI), this event will showcase the IT-related achievements of Faisalabad. Faisalabad has made extraordinary progress in different sectors of economy in addition to excelling in textiles.
Faisalabad has115 major software houses whereas approximately 10% freelance IT expert are earning 1,000 dollars per month. As the importance of IT is a main source of job creation in coming years, e-commerce is growing at a much faster pace. Thus, the more educated youth could be easily absorbed in this emerging and hi-tech sector. Faisalabad is the third largest city of Pakistan and the second largest contributor towards the National Economy. During recent years it has immerged as a major destination for Information Technology (IT) outsourcing and production facilities.
