Engr. Muhammad Navid Akram Ansari, Chairman IEEEP Karachi Centre, is gearing up for the highly anticipated IEEEP Fair, scheduled from the 10th to 12th of September. This year’s event is set to be the largest yet, reflecting the fair’s growing success and significance in the industry. “More than Eighty percent of the space for the halls is already booked, which is a testament to the success and relevance of IEEEP Fair,” Engr. Navid Ansari noted, highlighting the enthusiastic participation from various companies.

The fair, which will be held in four halls this year instead of three, will feature a special pavilion dedicated to Chinese companies, showcasing a significant increase in international involvement compared to previous years. “This year, the involvement of international companies is better than last year, demonstrating the growing local and global interest in the IEEEP Fair,” Engr. Navid Ansari said.

One of the notable additions to this year’s event is the inclusion of companies involved with both conventional and new technologies. Companies specializing in power generation and transmission will be present alongside those pioneering in electric vehicles and power storage solutions like lithium-ion batteries. “We have tried to include a diverse range of companies to reflect the evolving landscape of power and energy sector,” Engr. Navid Ansari explained.

Another exciting feature of the fair is the fourth hall, which is dedicated to B2G (Business to Government) solutions. This new addition aims to provide a platform for businesses to engage directly with government entities, showcasing their products and services to potential government entities. “The B2G pavilion will bridge the gap between businesses and government, facilitating direct communication and potential partnerships,” Engr. Navid Ansari said.

The economic situation in the country is in shambles with many businesses hanging on for survival during these times. Despite the challenging economic situation, Engr. Navid Ansari emphasizes the importance of staying engaged with customers. “The best available option in tough economic times is to stay connected with your customers. If businesses do not participate in such fairs and expos, they risk being forgotten. It is crucial for companies to take part in expos and showcase their products to potential customers,” he advised.

As always, IEEEP is also highlighting the “Make in Pakistan” initiative at this year’s fair, promoting locally manufactured products. By engaging with local companies and understanding their challenges, IEEEP aims to bring these issues to the attention of government entities. “In our last symposium, we highlighted the issue of raw material shortages for manufacturing in Pakistan. We advocated for reduced taxes and duties on imported raw materials to support local manufacturers and involved relevant government entities to work on it,” Engr. Navid Ansari explained.

A significant focus of IEEEP is on bridging the gap between industry and academia. Engr. Ansari stressed the importance of aligning academic research with industry needs. “We have always been working to decrease the distance between industry and academia through IEEEP. Faculties and students need to focus on practical solutions required by the industry,” he said.

Engr. Ansari’s leadership and vision for IEEEP Fair underscores the importance of such events in fostering industry advancement and collaboration. “Our goal is to provide a platform where businesses can thrive and innovative solutions can emerge. The IEEEP Fair is a crucial part of this mission,” he concluded.
