The second edition of Textile expo or ‘TEXPO’ held in Lahore expo center from 11th to 14th april has been concluded. The event was organized by Trade development authority of Pakistan (TDAP). Prominent national and multinational buyers attended the TEXPO, 2019 including Uniqlo Co Ltd (Japan), Target Inc (USA), Primark (UK), Orient International Holding (China), Tendam (Spain), Versaudet (France), Ituri (Spain), Fashionlinq BV (Netherlands) and many others.
Ten MoUs were signed during TEXPO. Pakistan Chamber of Commerce & Industry based in Hong Kong signed four MoUs including LCCI for visa facilitation & Trade Investment, Women Chamber (Lahore), Pakistan Hong Kong Trade Investment Forum, Handicraft Association of Pakistan (HAP); Global Exhibitions Director of M/s. International Exhibition and Conference Group Australia signed Memorandum of Understanding with four associations / councils including “Pakistan Carpet Manufacturers & Exporters Association” (PCMEA), “Handicraft Association of Pakistan” (HAP), “All Pakistan Bedsheet and Upholstery Manufacturers Association” (APBUMA), “Pakistan Fashion Design Council” (PFDC); Handicraft Association of Pakistan (HAP) signed two MoUs with Hong Kong Economic & Trade Association and with Euro Asia One Belt One Road Center (OBOR).
TDAP also organized a three-day fashion show featured a spectrum of top designers from Pakistan including Sana Safinaz, Khaadi, HSY, Nomi Ansari, Sania Maskatiya, Zara Shahjehan, Yasir Waheed etc.
Senior management from Ministry of Commerce & TDAP held detailed meetings at the TEXPO with different country delegates, and discussed the possible ways to increase bilateral trade. The meetings held with country delegations includes Russia, Bahrain, USA, China, Japan, United Kingdom, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, Czech Republic, Vietnam, Nigeria and France. Other important meetings include meetings with Italian Ambassador in Pakistan, Bashir Ali Muhammad Chairman & CEO of Gul Ahmed and meetings with leading business delegates from China & Germany.
