Technology Park Development Projects Islamabad is being implemented by the Federal Ministry of Information Technology & Telecommunication (MoITT) at a pretty slow pace.
The project was approved by the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) way back in December 2016 for implementation at an estimated cost of Rs 23303.048 million including Rupee Cover of Rs 19829.956 million. Against this, the Ministry has incurred an estimated expenditure of Rs 15394.431 million till June 30, 2025.
An allocation of Rs 4908.000 million including Local cover of Rs 500.000 million was provided under the Public Sector development Programme (PSDP) of the Federal Government for continued implementation during financial year 2025-26 against a throw forward of Rs 7908.617 million at the start of the current financial year.
The much-publicized IT related project is far from being completed even in nine years of its initial approval by the ECNEC.
This project was one of 12 development projects being implemented by the Ministry and these were at various stages of their completion. Details of these under -implementation projects will be mentioned on these pages some other time, please.
