An Exclusive Interview with Ahmad Naeem Chughtai, Hon. General Secretary, PHVACR Society

Ahmad Naeem Chughtai is currently serving as the Honorary General Secretary of the Pakistan HVACR Society. Having secured one of the highest numbers of votes in the recent PHVACR Society elections, Ahmad Naeem Chughtai views this outcome as a strong vote of confidence from the community. In an exclusive interaction with Engineering Post, Ahmad Naeem Chughtai, shared insights into the recent society elections, ongoing preparations for the 31st HVACR Expo, and the long-term vision for the HVACR industry in Pakistan.

Drawing on his experience as the former Chairman of the Lahore Chapter, he highlighted his role in organizing one of the most successful and well-attended HVACR Expos in Lahore. He believes that strong planning and collective effort are key to delivering impactful events. “An HVACR Expo is much more than an exhibition,” he explained. “It is a meeting point for manufacturers, consultants, contractors, and young professionals. When done right with teamwork, it strengthens the entire ecosystem of our industry.”

This year, the 31st HVACR Expo is being organized in Karachi and Ahmad Naeem Chughtai is contributing his expertise wherever required to support the organizing team. He emphasized that despite the change in city, the standards and expectations remain high. “Our goal is to deliver a world-class expo that reflects the maturity and potential of Pakistan’s HVACR industry,” he said. “The team is working day and night to ensure that every detail, from exhibitor coordination to visitor experience, is handled professionally.”

Speaking about the new tenure of the society under President Mr. Yousaf Hassan, Ahmad Naeem Chughtai expressed optimism and confidence. He noted that a major focus of the current leadership is the finalization of SOPs and clearly defined tasks for future office bearers. “One of our key objectives is continuity,” he stated. “We want systems that outlive individuals. By documenting SOPs and responsibilities, we are laying a foundation for sustainable growth and smoother transitions in future leadership.”

On the marketing side, Ahmad Naeem Chughtai shared that the society is utilizing all available platforms to maximize outreach for the expo. “We are actively promoting the event through social media, billboards, and other channels,” he said. “At the same time, we are encouraging exhibitors to engage their own clients, because their participation plays a vital role in ensuring strong footfall.” He also highlighted a notable improvement for this year’s event, adding, “The expo timing has been extended until 7:00 pm every day, which will allow more professionals to attend after working hours.”

Looking beyond Karachi, Ahmad Naeem Chughtai revealed that a mini HVACR Expo for Faisalabad is very close to finalization. “While it is not officially announced yet, we are optimistic,” he shared. “If finalized, we plan to organize a mini expo in Faisalabad in May this year. Regional events are important because they help us connect with professionals and businesses outside the major cities.”

While speaking about the future roadmap of the society, including plans for the 32nd HVACR Expo in Lahore in 2027 he said. “Lahore has always been close to my heart, and InshaAllah, the 32nd Expo will be another milestone for the society,” he said. “With teamwork, planning, and industry support, I am confident that the Pakistan HVACR Society will continue to grow and serve as a strong platform for the HVACR community across the country.”
