The NTDC successfully concluded the project aimed at enhancing the operational efficiency and
maintenance of the grid system by bolstering the NTDC TSG Training Centre in Lahore. This
achievement was made possible through collaboration with JICA Japan and AEC Japan
consultants. This significant milestone was reached as part of the ongoing 3rd Technical
Cooperation Grant Aid Project, spanning from June 2021 to December 2023, facilitated by JICA
Japan in conjunction with AEC Japan Consultants at the TSG Training Centre in New Kot
Lakhpat, Lahore. During the closing ceremony held at the TSG Training Centre NKLP Lahore,
Engr. Dr. Rana Abdul Jabbar Khan, Managing Director of NTDC, extended gratitude towards
the Government of Japan and JICA for their invaluable support in providing training facilities to
NTDC employees.
He emphasized the contribution of JICA, highlighting the provision of 32 PC
simulators in addition to the TSG’s grid system operation Training Simulator. These tools have
empowered engineers to operate the power system with enhanced safety and reliability,
significantly contributing to its stable operation. Dr. Khan also appealed for continued assistance
in NTDC’s human resource development endeavors. Key representatives, including Project
Managers from JICA and the General Manager of TSG, shared their perspectives during the
event. The ceremony was attended by Deputy Managing Director (P&E), General Managers,
Chief Engineers, and senior officers from NTDC.
