The FBR has issued customs general order (CGO) 4 of 2017.
According to the CGO, the photovoltaic modules (solar panels) (PCT heading 8541.4000) with or without the related components, appearing at the Serial 1016 in the list of locally manufactured goods notified vide CGO 02/2017 dated April 19, 2017 shall be treated as not locally manufactured for the purpose of all the exemptions/ concessions till June 30, 2018, the FBR added.
Meanwhile, the sources said that the FBR has not consulted the Engineering Development Board (EDB) regarding confirmation of solar panels being manufactured locally as the same are appearing in the list of locally manufactured goods, they added.
