Sindh Chief Minister, Syed Murad Ali Shah in his budget speech in the Provincial Assembly said that Govt has decided to provide electricity to 248 primary health facilities through Solar PV technology. The government will also raise infrastructure to provide electricity to more than 570 villages by june 2020. The government has allocated Rs 24.920 billion in this regard for Energy Sector’s non-development budget.
This year work on the Sindh Solar Energy project will also be initiated in collaboration with World Bank which is envisioned to provide 420MW on-grid and rooftop solar installations. These solar PV installations will provide electricity to around 200,000 households in rural areas.
