Sindh Govt signed contract worth Rs51.6 billion for Water Supply to Thar Coal Block

The Sindh government has inked a significant Rs51.6 billion contract, a Public-Private Partnership (PPP), to ensure water supply from Nabisar to the Venjhiar Water Supply Project in the Thar Coal Block. The agreement was signed between the Sindh government and Kuwait’s InterTech Water Private Limited. Caretaker Law Minister Muhammad Omar Soomro, Kuwaiti officials, and Law Secretary Ali Ahmed Baloch participated in the ceremony. Soomro expressed gratitude for the foreign investment and highlighted the project’s potential to generate 1650 MW of electricity from Thar Coal Block. A canal with a 200 cusecs capacity from Fresh Regulator to Nabisar is also part of this initiative, crucial for meeting the country’s power needs.
