“Sindh energy department has been inclined at Rs1 billion for the fiscal year 2020-21 and Rs3.3 billion for foreign funded projects. A capital income of Rs498.75 million allocated for electrification of primary health facilities through solar PV technology (SBA, Ghotki, Larkana, Badin, Dadu, Jamshoro, Khairpur, Shikarpur, Matiari, Sanghar, Mirpurkhas, T A Yar & N Feroze), Village Electrification Programme in Sindh with Rs250 million, electrification of Goths (Villages) in and around Karachi with Rs137.5 million” stated in budget document. Approximately including Rs20 billion for clearance of outstanding liabilities of electricity dues of various government departments pertaining to DISCOs such as KE, HESCO and SEPCO, Budget Estimates for Energy Department in current revenue expenditure is pitched at Rs24.99 billion. Budgetary allocation of Director Alternate Energy Sindh has been heightened by 11.5 percent from Rs21.34 million to Rs23.79 million. While for of Director Oil & Gas Sindh has been boosted by 77.8 percent from Rs9.38 million to Rs16.69 million and Rs200 million has been allocated for Thar Coal Energy Board in next FY 2020-21.
