Science & Technological Research Division launching only one new scheme

The Science & Technological  Research Division of the Federal Government is launching only one new scheme during the current financial  year 2024-25.

Quite interestingly, development scheme ” Establishment of a Research in Surface  Engineering , National University of Science and Technology (NUST), Islamabad was approved by the Departmental  Development Working Party (DDWP)  in May 2022 at a cost of Rs 1295.903 million  involving of foreign aid and it as scheduled to be launched only during during current financial year with an allocation of Rs 310.00 million under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) of the Federal Government with a delay of about two years only now.

The Science and Technological Research Division on the whole was implementing  30 major and minor schemes at a total estimated cost of Rs 32992.289 million without any foreign aid.. These schemes have been approved by the Central Development Working Party (CDWP) and DDWP  and  five  under execution schemes are likely to be completed during the ongoing financial year before the end of June 2025 if all goes well as scheduled.

Under the PSDP, an allocation of Rs 6649.600 million has been provided for the continued execution of under implementation of 30 ongoing schemes and launching of only one new scheme.
