Due to reduction in fuel prices, Pakistan Railway has decided to reduce its cargo charges by 10 percent on transportation of coal, fertilizer, cement and other supplies. Sheikh Rashid, Federal Railway Minister, has informed about this in his press conference to bring down charges by Rs 5000 per container wagon. The railway is ready to launch passenger trains operations from May 10, but some provinces has not agreed while Minster of Railway is trying his full for the settlement of restoring passengers’ operations by discussing it with the province within two to three days. As the organization has nearly 77,000 employees and almost 200,000 pensioners, there is no option other than to resume the operation of railway in order to pay them salaries before Eid.
