Railways leased more than 14 thousand acres non-operational land in five years

Pakistan Railways have so far leased around 14087 acres of its non-operational land over a period of five years through both competitive and non-competitive process and generated revenue of Rs 1695777 million.

According to Railway official sources, the Railways own 168858 acres of land across the country and have plans in hand to integrate its land assets with the National Rail Land Development under a structured public-private partnership (PPP) framework for ensuring optimal and systematic utilization of railways land throughout the country.

Railways land is located mainly along the main corridors, stations, marshalling yards, workshops and urban interfaces.
