Qatar’s trading company aims to work for Pak’s LNG

A buy tender by Pakistan LNG was enlightened by a Qatar’s newly formed trading unit to buy tender for the supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG) for the first time. A set up of a trading unit, Qatar Petroleum Trading Company, with headquartered in Doha aims to build a diversified global portfolio of LNG produced locally and internationally. Typically, the parent company has negotiates the supply of LNG to Pakistan on a government to government level. The trading unit has placed the lowest offers for three of six LNG cargoes sought by Pakistan for January delivery. No bids were placed for delivery of three cargoes pursued in the first half of January that may impulse the country towards a re-tender to meet its rising gas needs. As per the negotiated conditions, PLL might have to re-tender with wider specifications and a shorter bid validity period for the three cargoes in the early January that received no offers.
