The Ministry of Planning, Development and Special Initiatives endeavors to complete development projects in all sectors of the national economy which are in advanced stages of execution and accordingly allocating adequate funding to core/mega projects, foreign aided projects and projects which are nearing completion. Priority has also been assigned to the development projects relating to 5Es i.e. Exports, Equity, Empowerment, Environment and Energy Framework, CPEC as well as 4RF i.e. Resilient, Recovery, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Framework. New projects focusing on supporting exports, enhancing productivity, deepening Information Technology (IT)/ digital infrastructure, innovation driven enterprises, agroindustry and seed development, blue economy, science and technology, research and development and innovation reforms have been included in PSDP 2024-25, according to the information now available from the official quarters concerned.
The completion of ongoing projects has been accorded due priority for PSDP 2024-25 and almost 94 percent of resources have been allocated to the ongoing projects while only 6 percent of the resources have been earmarked for the launching of the new projects in different sectors during the current financial year .
Due priority has been assigned to infrastructure sector being the primary responsibility of the Federal Government with over 6m1 percent of the PSDP allocations, followed by Social Sector having 17 percent and balanced regional development of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Gilgit and Baktistan and Merged Districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with 10 percent of the allocations. Other than these sectors, about 12 percent of the allocated resources have been earmarked for other sectors like Information Technology (IT) and Telecommunication, Science and Technology, Governance and Production sectors etc.
