Pakistan seeking assistance of AIIB for Sukkur-Hyderabad section of M-6

Pakistan is seeking assistance from the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) for the Sukkur-Hyderabad section of the Karachi-Peshawar Motorway (M-6) for completion of the motorway network from Karachi to Peshawar.

National Highway Authority (NHA) was engaged in the construction of 306 KM 6 Lane divided, fenced motorway on build, Operate, Transfer (BOT) basis at an estimated cost of Rs 10,300,000 million involving no foreign aid.

It was approved by the Executive of the National Economic Council (E CNE C) and has already been revised twice. Till end June 2024, an expenditure of Rs 5702.989 million was reported to have been incurred so far on the infrastructure project .
