FIRM DECON International Successfully Performed Pile Load Uplift Test Up To 652 Tons
Firm DECON International (Pvt) Ltd, has successfully performed Uplift (Tensile) Load Test up to 652 tons and compression test up to 663 tons on pile foundations of ±660kV HVDC Overhead Power Transmission Line (Matiari – Lahore). The test equipment was designed and fabricated adhering to ASTM/EN standards. This project involved load testing of 9 test piles. All tests were performed conforming to ASTM/EN standards.
DECON’s skilled professionals provided an unparallel level of commitment and service throughout the project, due to which they performed test without any fatal incident. DECON ensured safety at work throughout the project, with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) measures.
Firm DECON International successfully conducted this high level project mainly because of its experience on previous successful working on many national level projects.
China Electric Power Equipment and Technology Co. Ltd. (CET) had awarded the work for pile testing on pile foundations of ±660kV HVDC Overhead Power Transmission Line (Matiari – Lahore) to Firm DECON International (Pvt.) Ltd. The project is owned by National Transmission & Dispatch Company Ltd. (NTDC). This is the first time in Pakistan, when NTDC performed pile load test in Transmission Line project for testing the actual in-situ capacity of a pile.
This 660kV Matiari – Lahore transmission line will stretch 878 kilometers from Matiari, Sindh, to Nankana Sahib District near Lahore, Pakistan, of which 550.65 kilometers will be in Punjab province and 314.9 kilometers in Sindh Province.
It will help to transmit 4,000 MW of generated electricity from new coal power plants at Port Qasim, Hub and Thar to northern Pakistan.
