Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar while chairing a briefing regarding orange line train was informed that that the Orange Line Metro Train Project will become operational from Dera Gujran to Anarkali from October 28 2019. According to the briefing the work on 13 stations from Dera Gujran to Anarkali is complete and test trial runs have been made on this route.
The CM was further informed that work on 11 remaining stations is progressing rapidly and will be complete by early November after which test trial of running the train on electricity on the complete track will be conducted. The Punjab chief minister will be the chief guest during launching ceremony of Orange Line Train on test trial.
Usman Buzdar announced that fare of train will be fixed up to purchasing power of common man. Hopefully, the people will be able to travel on train in the month of January, he said.
Provincial Minister Transport Jehanzeb Khan Khitchi, Principal Secretary to CM, officials of Punjab Mass Transit Authority, DG LDA and concerned officers participated in the meeting.
