Lahore Orange Line train project would be completed by 2018 with a soft Chinese loan of US 1.47 billion dollars while work on Lahore Knowledge Park will start this year.”
This was stated by Secretary Punjab Planning & Development Iftikhar Ali Sahool in a briefing session with a 16-member delegation of National School of Public Policy led by its Director Dr Saad Khan.
While highlighting different major development projects undertaken by the Punjab government, he said the provincial government in collaboration with the federal government was investing more in health and energy sector. Effective efforts were being made to involve the private sector into public sector.
Southern Punjab was being focused by government on its top priority agenda. Under the Khadim-e-Punjab Rural Road Program, 20,000-km rural roads with US 1.5 billion dollars investment are being completed soon.
Punjab government had undertaken Saaf Pani Project at the cost of Rs 200 billion for provision of clean drinking water to the public, he said.
Mass Transport System has been introduced in three major cities of province, he added.
