Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) has made a landmark discovery of oil and gas at its exploratory well in the Nashpa bLock in Kohat district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
This has been described as a breakthrough which has marked the first ever hydrocarbon discovery from the Kingriah Formation in the block.
The well was currently producing 2280 barrels of oil per day and 5.6 million standard cubic feet of gas per day.
This major discovery has not only de-risked deeper exploration prospects within the region, as per technical details available, but also strengthened.
Pakistan’s ongoing drive toward indigenous energy development.
The discovery was expected to support the country’s supply-demand balance and also enhance the reserves portfolio of OGDCL and its joint venture partners.
