The National University of Science & Technology (NUST) has retained its top position in Engineering & Technology in Pakistan and also has improved its global ranking to 127 in the QS World University Rankings 2025, rising 17 positions.
It is also ranked among the top 200 globally in Computer science, Mathematics, Chemical Engineering, and Electrical Engineering. NUST’s “Establishment of NUST Chip Design Centre ” aims to develop skilled manpower and also serve as a hub for fables chip design in Northern Pakistan. The Centre was enhancing talent through training, supporting
Research & Development (R&D) in Digital, Analog, and Mixed- Signal IC design and providing essential infrastructure and Electronic design Automation (EDA) tools. With more than 70 percent of civil work completed, the project has held three training programmes, one chip tape-out, and also established industry and academia partnerships. It was expected to drive financial benefits through Intellectual Property (IP) licensing, design services, and startups.
