The National Transmission and Despatch Company (NTDC) was the backbone of Pakistan’s power sector and was continuously taking initiatives and measures in order to promote the local industry.
The NTDC has reportedly placed orders for indigenization of the local power industry worth approximately Rs 781 million with the domestic manufacturers.
These orders pertain to transmission towers, high-accuracy energy meters, monitoring devices for auto transformation and conductors.
These orders were placed following a high-level committee’s visit to a manufacturer in Lahore for evaluating the quality of its manufacturing processes and equipment.
The NTDC had started its indigenization efforts way back in 2017 and taking initiatives for promoting the local power industry as and when required.
