The National Highway Authority (NHA) of the Communications Division of the Federal Government is accelerating the completion of a large number of ongoing development projects during the ongoing financial year
As per the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) the NHA was executing as many as large and small development projects across the country at a total estimated cost of Rs 3293138.780 million including rupee cover of Rs 281491.293 million. An estimated total expenditure of Rs 648075.393 million was reported to have been incurred by end June 2025 with a number of ongoing development projects making headway towards various stages of their scheduled completion.
According to information available from the NHA documents, the NHA was targeting completion of as many as 39 ongoing development projects worth Rs 1.4 trillion road projects by the end of the ongoing financial year in June 2026.
Ongoing developments nearing completion included the dualization and improvement of old Bannu Road in three packages, the construction of the motorway from Burhan Hakla on Motorway-1 to Dera Ismail Khan, the development of the Kot Pindi Das interchange on Motorway M-2 in
Sheikhupura district , the upgradation and widening of the Jaglot -Skardu Road, the dualization of the Indus Highway from Sarai Gambila to Kohat, the rehabilitation of the 54.8 kilometer Awaran-Jhalijao Road, the 221-kilometer Indus Highway additional carriageway project , the construction of the Shandor-Gilgit Road, the dualization of Sialkot-Kharian Motorway.
