The government of Punjab has recently decided on constructing a new industrial state on the area of land in Gujrat, Punjab which is non- agricultural and available.
The Minister of Commerce and Industry Punjab, Chaudhary Shafay Hussain presided over a meeting in which he reviewed the colonization and development issues of 23 small industrial estates of Punjab. He directed the administration of Gujrat to identify the suitable land in the upcoming days and said that the place that is to be identified should have electricity transmission and gas pipelines readily available nearby. This industrial state would provide convenience to industrialists and increase economic activities. He said “the establishment of new factories in Punjab would create new employment opportunities; the government was following an effective strategy to speed up the process of industrialization in the province”.
Punjab Small Industries Corporation (PSIC) Managing Director Sidra Younas, Senior Economic Advisor Javed Iqbal and Irrigation officers were a part of the meeting whereas the ADCR Gujarat attended the meeting through a video link.
