The Sindh government is moving forward with plans to establish a new industrial enclave spanning 500 acres along the Hyderabad-Tando Muhammad Khan Road. This ambitious project aims to become a key industrial and commercial hub, benefiting Hyderabad—Sindh’s second-largest city—and its surrounding areas, while attracting substantial foreign investment.
Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Sindh, Syed Qasim Naveed Qamar, shared these details during a meeting of the Sindh Economic Zone Management Company (SEZMC). Highlighting the significance of the initiative, Qamar emphasized that the industrial enclave is expected to drive economic growth in second-tier cities, create thousands of jobs, and unlock new opportunities for industries across the province.
The feasibility report and master plan for the 500-acre site at Ganju Takkar, strategically located near Hyderabad, have already been completed. Work on subsequent phases is ongoing, with the project soon to be presented for cabinet approval. The proposed enclave is designed to accommodate a diverse range of industries, including textiles, pharmaceuticals, cement, automotive, renewable energy, engineering, glass, plastics, jewellery, leather, paper, hosiery, silk, and more, fostering industrial diversification in Sindh.
Qasim Naveed Qamar acknowledged the active involvement of senior leadership of PPP in promoting economic activities aimed at stabilizing the national economy and creating employment for the youth.
