NEPRA disappointed by the NTDC’s attention over CTBCM

Heated disagreements between National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) and National Transmission and Dispatch Company (NTDC) are said to have happened on the matter of implementation on Competitive Trading Bilateral Contract Market (CTBCM). NEPRA replied to a letter by NTDC and recorded serious annoyance and disappointment on the questions that were raised by NTDC over the matter.

The authority showed extreme disappointment due to the highly unprofessional nature of the letter by NTDC which raised very basic queries. The authority reminded that all such queries were addressed to almost two years ago.

The authority claims that the design that has already been approved is according to the National Electricity Policy and that the timelines and conditions for application of the design given to NTDC were very clear. The design should have been approved and applied by the company in September last year and the irresponsibility of the company in this regard has been extremely disappointing. NTDC is deliberately trying to indent the CTBCM reforms for the maintenance of their status quo and it needs to recognize the importance of approval procedure of the project. The authority acted surprised on the basic inquisition of NTDC after the formal launch of the project and also recorded their expectations from the company to take the matter on hand, seriously, meanwhile also rising up to the expectations of the nation.
