National Freelancing Facilitation Policy formulated

The federal ministry of Information Technology & Telecommunication (IT&T has been working on the vision of Digital Pakistan through multiple cross-sectoral digital transformation initiatives such as Laws, Policies and Rules for the enablement of the digital landscape some of these initiatives have been reproduced here.

The Federal Ministry of Information Technology & Telecommunication has formulated the National Freelancing facilitation Policy in consultation with the relevant stakeholders and sent its draft to the Federal Cabinet for its consideration and approval.

Interim set up of Pakistan’s first Cloud Office has also been constituted by the Ministry for the formulation of Pakistan’s First Cloud Policy. Criteria for Content Security Policy has also been developed by the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) in consultation with the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MOITT).

The Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication has also revised the Digital Pakistan Policy of 2018 in response to the technological advancements. The new policy, Digital Pakistan Policy 2024 has been formulated after extensive consultation and feedback from the relevant stakeholders. Multiple consultation rounds have been conducted to finalize the draft. This updated policy aims to support Sustainable Development Goal 4 which is access to Education. The initiative facilitates access to education through e-learning platforms, digital libraries, and online courses. It also provides opportunities for remote learning, especially in the underserved areas of the country.
