The federal government now plans to establish a Model Special Economic Zone in Islamabad also.
Board of Investment of the Federal Government has been entrusted with the responsibility of undertaking feasibility study of this major project and for acquisition of land for it.
The initial work is likely to have commenced in this regard as the project was only approved by the Central Development Working Party (CDWP) in the first week of June 2022 at an estimated cost of Rs 9784.65 million and a small amount of Rs 500.000 million allocated to the Board of Investment under the PSDP 2022-23 for preliminary work in this regard.
