Mega Development Projects prioritized under PSDP 2025-26

A number of mega development projects in different sectors have been duly prioritized under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) of the Federal Government for financial year 2025-26 so that the progress of these projects do not suffer despite resource constraints.

The projects which have been prioritized included N-25 Quetta-Karachi, Sukkur-Hyderabad Motorway (M-6), Dasu Hydropower Project including evacuation, Diamir Basha Dam and Mohmand Dam projects, K-IV and Water Augmentation Projects of Karachi, supply of power to Allama Iqbal Industrial City Karachi and Islamabad Information Technology Park, Pakistan Raises Revene, Reconstruction of houses and schools damaged in Sindh in floods, Post flood 2022 Reconstruction Programme in Balochistan, Thar Coal Rail Connectivity, Cancer Hospital in Islamabad and Prime Minister’s National Programme for Control of Hepatitis “C” and Diabetes.

Despite prioritization of number of projects in different sector, Pakistan Railways mega projects Rehabilitation and Upgradation of Main Line (ML-1) from Karachi to Peshawar and Karachi Circular Railway (KCR) have not been included despite the bitter fact that the fate of these have been hanging in the air for varying number of years.
