In a major development poised to reshape Pakistan’s automotive landscape, the Master Group of Industries, a leading Pakistani conglomerate with over 60 years of industrial excellence and around 40 years of auto-manufacturing experience, has forged a landmark strategic alliance with Chery Automobile, China’s top global vehicle exporter. This partnership, formalized under Master Group’s subsidiary Master Auto Engineering, aims to introduce the latest Super Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEVs) and New Energy Vehicles (NEVs) to the Pakistani market.
According to the press release the collaboration heralds a new era for sustainable mobility, advanced technology, and enhanced customer experience in Pakistan. Under the leadership of Samir Malik, CEO of Master Auto Engineering, the Master Group is making significant investments to support this venture. This includes establishing a cutting-edge manufacturing facility within Pakistan, developing a nationwide world-class “3S” (Sales, Service, Spares) dealership network, and implementing comprehensive after-sales support infrastructure.
“This partnership transcends a typical business venture; it’s fundamentally about powering Pakistan’s sustainable future,” stated Samir Malik. “By integrating Chery’s globally acclaimed NEV technology with the Master Group’s deep industrial legacy and local expertise, we are committed to delivering advanced, eco-friendly mobility solutions to Pakistani consumers without compromising on performance, affordability, or accessibility.”
The strategic alliance addresses Pakistan’s growing need for modern, fuel-efficient transportation options while positioning the country firmly within the global shift towards electric mobility. Chery’s entry, backed by its status as China’s number one auto exporter, brings proven PHEV and NEV platforms that are successful internationally. Industry observers believe this venture has the potential to accelerate the adoption of supportive EV policies in Pakistan and contribute to reducing the nation’s reliance on imported fossil fuels.
Central to Master Auto Engineering’s customer-centric vision is the 3S dealership network, designed to offer an elevated ownership experience by seamlessly integrating sales, service, and parts supply – a critical factor in boosting consumer confidence for EV adoption in emerging markets. With construction set to begin on the new manufacturing hub, the ambitious target is to have the first locally-assembled Chery PHEVs on Pakistani roads within the next 18 months, marking a significant leap towards cleaner, technologically advanced transportation for the nation.
