Mari Energies Limited has announced the discovery of new oil and gas reserves in Sindh, marking a significant addition to Pakistan’s domestic energy resources.
In a disclosure to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the company reported that hydrocarbons were discovered at the Mari Ghazij CF-B1 exploratory well, located within the Mari Development and Production Lease (D&PL). The well was spud-in on September 12, 2025, and drilled to a depth of 1,195 meters, targeting oil-prone formations in the Ghazij reservoir.
Testing results confirmed a production rate of 305 barrels of oil per day and 3 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) of natural gas, with a wellhead flowing pressure (WHFP) of 225 psi on a 48/64-inch choke size.
Mari Energies Limited, which holds a 100% working interest in the Mari D&PL, described the find as part of its ongoing exploration drive to boost indigenous energy production.
Company officials said the new discovery would enhance Mari’s output and support Pakistan’s efforts to strengthen domestic energy security, reducing reliance on costly fuel imports.
