Welcoming the governmental decision about reduction of energy cost, SEM’s will boost the industrial sector as per governmental promise to continue incentives for industrial sectors. As per the announcement by PM, Chairman Ijaz Khokhar of Pakistan Readymade Garments Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PRGMEA) has linked its success with consistency. Shaban Khalid, former president Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) has adumbrated that reduction in electricity prices would reduce the input cost and would make Pakistani products competitive in the regional markets. Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) also appreciated the prime minister’s decision to reduce the electricity tariff for the SMEs and industries. Relief package will provide support in competition with regional industries forecasting better results for SEM to grow influentially as the economy of a country is always backed by this sector. The package has been activated from November 1 to June 30, 2021 with 50 percent lower costs. As the industry was severely wedged during the lockdown period, it is the need of hour to support this sector now.
