Chief Secretary Sindh Mumtaz Ali Shah while speaking at a meeting held at FPCCI said that Karachi Circular Railway (KCR) and Green Line Bus projects are expected to be operational in current calendar year.
He informed the gathering that Sindh government with the support of Pakistan Railways had recovered all encroached land and the KCR was expected to be operational during ongoing year.
The meeting was attended by acting president FPCCI Noor Khan, S M Muneer, vice president Arshad Jamal, former president Khalid Tawab, Mazhar Ali Nasir and others.
Replying to a question regarding the release of funds for the KCR, Chief Secretary said that initially Pakistan Railways would be responsible for the revival of KCR operation and then it would be taken over by Sindh government.
