The work on K-4 Project is in full swing and the K-4 Project Management Unit along with Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) have been engaged to complete this greater project of providing additional water to Karachi at the earliest.
According to a press release, this was informed by the Project Director K-4 Saleem Siddiqui while reviewing the pace of work on the project at Keenjhar Lake district Thatta, the Zero Point of the project.
Accompanied by the head of the construction team of FWO Colonel Anees as well as the representatives of Federal Planning Commission and Provincial Planning Commission Sindh, Saleem Siddiqui has expressed satisfaction over the pace of work said that monitoring of the project is being carried out on daily basis in order to ensure its timely completion so that the citizens of Karachi could get sufficient water for their daily use. He termed K-4 a greater project adding that the water availability in Karachi would be improved after its completion.
The Colonel Anees termed K-4 a challenge for FWO adding that all resources are being utilized for completion of this greater project and ease the citizens of Karachi who are facing shortage of water.
The Chief Monitoring Officer Project Wing Planning Commission Islamabad Zahoor Ali shah has appreciated the pace of work as well as standard being maintained on completion of the project adding that Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal is personally monitoring the work of the project.
He also expressed his satisfaction over the utilization of federal granted funds in right direction and hoped that the project will be completed within stipulated period.
The Director Planning Commission Sindh Tufail Ahmed Abro said that handing over the project to FWO for completion a wise decision of Sindh government adding that appointment of Saleem Siddiqui as Project Director is also the good decision which made by Sindh Minister for Local Government Jam Khan Shoro.
The representatives of Project Consultant Usmani and Company Colonel Ajmal Rasheed on the occasion also briefed the technical aspects of K-4 Project.
Among others, Superintending Engineer Syed Qiaser Ali and Executive Engineer Moin Ahmed also present on the occasion.
