The 350MW Jhampir Wind and Solar hybrid project will be able to provide cheap electricity to the industrial areas of Sindh and will be completed within 15 months. This was announced during a meeting of the Energy Department which was chaired by Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, Provincial Energy Minister Sindh.
It was also stated during the meeting that 36 wind turbines will be installed as a part of this project, each of which will be able to generate 7MW of electricity. The Minister added that Rs 120.865 billion have been estimated as the cost of this project whereas the cost of electricity generated from this project is said to be Rs18 billion approximately.
He also highlighted how Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is following in Asif Ali Zardari’s footsteps to fulfill his vision of providing cheap electricity. He said that this project will provide highly beneficial to the industries of Sindh as they will be supplied by consistent, green and cheap electricity.
Tariq Ali Shah(MD TCEB), Imtiaz Ali Shah (MD SEECA), Saleem Ahmed Sheikh (CEO STDC), Tariq Saeed GMSTDC and other officers were also present during the meeting.
