Jawad Electric is the sole distributor for SIGMA Elektrik in Pakistan, a partnership that has allowed them to introduce high-quality switchgear accessories and panels that meet European standards. Since launching SIGMA in Pakistan in 2018, the company has seen remarkable growth, particularly in sectors like flour mills, the sugar industry, and steel manufacturing. During a recent exclusive conversation with Engineering Post, Mr. Asad Butt, Director Jawad Electric said “Our commitment to quality has been our strongest asset. The products we bring to the market, particularly those from SIGMA, are on par with European brands like ABB and Schneider, but at a more economical price point.”
SIGMA Elektrik, with its roots in Turkey and a legacy of exporting to over 70 countries since 1992, is known for its high-tech, durable products. The high quality of the product has helped Jawad Electric gain approval from WAPDA, Pakistan’s Water and Power Development Authority, a significant milestone. Asad Butt mentions, “We’re in the process of getting approvals from K-Electric as well. Once that happens, we plan to open an office in Karachi to better serve the southern region.”
In addition to their work with SIGMA, Jawad Electric is also tapping into the rapidly growing solar market in Pakistan. The company has partnered with Tompson Solar, a Chinese brand known for its combination of high quality and affordability. “The solar market in Pakistan is booming, and we’re excited to be part of it,” says Asad Butt.
The success of Jawad Electric’s offerings in Pakistan can be largely attributed to their strategic marketing efforts. Asad Butt explains, “We initially developed the market through marketing campaigns and advertisements in industry-specific magazines. We also offered free trials and samples to potential clients, which really helped in showcasing the quality of our products.” This hands-on approach allowed customers to experience the superiority of SIGMA’s products firsthand, leading to increased trust and long-term business relationships.
After-sales support is another crucial aspect of Jawad Electric’s success. “The support we receive from SIGMA in terms of after-sales service is invaluable,” says Asad Butt. “They are consistently engaged in research and development, ensuring that our clients receive the most up-to-date and reliable products.” This commitment to innovation is particularly important in industries like steel, where frequent power fluctuations and tripping are common issues. “For example, Mughal Steel, one of our regular clients, has benefited greatly from our high-quality switchgear solutions. SIGMA is even developing a product specifically tailored to the unique challenges faced by the steel industry in Pakistan.”

Asad Butt notes, “Leading brands like SIGMA invest heavily in R&D, which allows them to add five to six new items to their portfolio every six months.
