Jawad Electric has quickly become a trusted name in Pakistan’s electrical sector, establishing itself as the sole distributor of SIGMA Elektrik, a global brand recognized for its high-quality switchgear and accessories. Since introducing SIGMA Elektrik products to Pakistan in 2018, the company has expanded its footprint across multiple industries, including flour mills, the sugar sector, and steel manufacturing, making a significant impact on the market.
During an exclusive conversation with Engineering Post, Mr. Asad Butt, Director of Jawad Electric, reflected on the company’s successful journey. “Our commitment to quality has been our strongest asset,” said Mr. Asad Butt. “The products we bring to the market, particularly those from SIGMA Elektrik, are on par with European brands like ABB and Schneider, but at a more economical price point. This balance between quality and affordability has helped us stand out in a highly competitive market.”
SIGMA Elektrik, headquartered in Turkey, has been manufacturing and exporting high-tech, durable electrical products since 1992. With a presence in more than 70 countries, the company has built a reputation for innovation and reliability. By aligning with SIGMA Elektrik, Jawad Electric has not only been able to offer European-standard products to local industries but has also strengthened its credibility as a supplier. This credibility was further cemented when Jawad Electric secured approval from the Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA), a major achievement that highlights the reliability and quality of SIGMA Elektrik products in Pakistan’s power sector.
Adding an international perspective to the discussion, Mr. Uzgur Unlu, GM SIGMA Elektrik, also shared his views during his recent visit to Pakistan. Mr. Uzgur Unlu expressed his excitement about the partnership’s growth and its future potential. “Pakistan is a very important market for us,” he said. “Through our collaboration with Jawad Electric, we have seen excellent progress, and now we are preparing to introduce new products such as DC MCBs, MCCBs, SPDS, ACBs and other solutions designed specifically for the solar industry. Renewable energy is the future, and we see strong opportunities to expand in this direction.”
The move toward solar solutions reflects both companies’ shared vision for innovation and adaptability. As Pakistan continues to embrace renewable energy, the demand for reliable solar-compatible components is rising rapidly. By positioning themselves early in this market, Jawad Electric and SIGMA Elektrik are preparing to play a leading role in supporting the country’s energy transformation.
Mr. Asad Butt emphasized that this evolution is a natural extension of the company’s mission. “We are not just here to sell products; we are here to create long-term value,” he explained. “Our customers know that when they choose us, they are choosing reliability, compliance with international standards, and products that will perform under demanding industrial conditions. Partnering with SIGMA Elektrik has given us the strength to meet these expectations consistently.”
Looking ahead, both Jawad Electric and SIGMA Elektrik plan to deepen their collaboration, not only by expanding product lines but also by enhancing technical support and training for the local market. By ensuring that engineers, contractors, and end-users are well-versed in the application of their products, the companies aim to create a more robust ecosystem around their solutions.
