IT Park Islamabad to aide in the $25 billion IT exports goal

The Islamabad IT park will be a significant part of the plan to achieve 25 billion dollar It exports, according to the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Shareef. This was stated during a review meeting on information technology sector projects and implementation of measures to increase IT exports and digitization by the Prime Minister

Furthermore, it was also discussed that various projects of the information technology sector will be invested upon and will be expected to provide a raise in the IT exports. In this regard, the government investment may increase from 77 million dollars to 2.5 billion dollars. An additional $10 billion is expected from the country’s digital transformation, $2 billion from the telecom sector, and as a result of government initiatives $13 billion are expected from IT exports.

According to the Prime Minister, construction and establishment of an IT park will play a major role in the increase of overall IT exports and the work on Islamabad IT Park project is satisfactory. Steps will be taken and a plan has been made with the Korean experts after consultation, which will further decrease the time for the completion of the project. The IT park construction has been reduced and is subjected to completion in February 25, 2025 as opposed to June 25.
