Due to the contagious corona virus (COVID-19) pandemic government had stopped all industries from working rendering a lot of daily wagers and laborers jobless.
Now to fulfill the increased demand of goods and edible items in the market the government is contemplating partially allowing industries to start functioning again adhering to the government made directives and SOPs.
It has come to light that the government is considering reactivating those industries on priority basis which have their own residential areas so their contact with the outside world in minimal.
Provincial Minister for Information Syed Nasir Hussain Shah has said that all those industries which have their own residential colonies would be allowed to function after devising standard operating procedures for them.
President of Korangi Association of Trade & Industry (KATI), Sheikh Umer Rehan has also urged Sindh government for no further delay in process defining Standard operating procedure (SOPs) for resumption of industry during the current lockdown restrictions.
He said that industrialist community understands the severity of the situation and ready to cooperate with the government, “Industries would follow the precautionary guidelines and directives of social distancing and hygiene as recommended by government and health authorities during the production process,” he added.
