Pakistan’s automobile industry finally achieved a turn-around during the just concluded fiscal year 2024-25 up to 20 percent on a year-on-year basis with vehicles number of sold reaching 182452 after facing two tough years.
According to the figures available from the industry sources somewhat appreciable recovery was driven by a welcome surge in the demand across the segments but especially in the sale of passenger cars, which had posted as high as 74 percent rise in June 2025 alone. During June 2025, as many as 25305 units were sold which were 43 percent higher than the figures of the same month during the previous year. This increase was duly attributed to Irish of the buyers to the showrooms to avoid as much as possible upcoming taxes in the federal budget for financial year 2025-26.
Toyota-makers , Indus Motor Company stood out with a 61 percent jump in the sales by delivering over 33000 units during the year. Most of the lift had come from higher sales of popular models Corolla, Yaris and Cross which together numbered more than 25000 units. Sales of the Fortuner and IMVs had almost doubled with Honda (HCAR) following with sale of 18296 units during FY 25, up by 38 percent from the last year’s sales figures. Honda Civic and Civic models were reported to be the key drivers with sales rising as much as 44 percent during the period under report.
