Engineering post had an exclusive interview with Engr. Zaheer Uddin, an energetic engineer working as General Manager Projects – ELV at IMS Engineering, to gather in-depth information about the workings of IMS and their future prospects. Engr. Zaheer Uddin is a graduate of Hamdard University with Masters in Industrial Electronics from NED University and has been working in the industry for the past decade dealing with local and foreign projects on different scales.
During the discussion while explaining the working of the company he said “ IMS Engineering deals with all kinds of automation and control systems which are required in a building including HVAC control, Fire alarm system, Access control, Gas detection system, Audio intercom system, CCTV systems, water and gas metering systems. We provide one window solution for the installation of these systems and the monitoring of all these systems can be done from a single room in the building”
IMS Engineering has collaborations with renowned brands from all over the world including Schneider Electric, ABB, Honeywell (for Fire Alarm, CCTV), Mamac, KELE and ACI. IMS is the exclusive representatives of Barcol Air and Diehl metering systems in Pakistan.
IMS engineering has served a huge number of clients all over Pakistan. Some of the more notable ones include Emmar Pakistan, UBL Head office building, AWT Building and HBL tower. Many of the Pharmaceutical manufacturers also utilise the services of IMS engineering including GSK, Abbott, GETZ, Searle, SAMI, ATCO and many others. Some hospitals being services by IMS Engineering include Agha khan hospital, Mukhtar A. Sheikh Hospital, Multan. Recep Tayyip Erdogan Hospital Muzaffargarh, CMH Rawalpindi and many others. While commenting on the working of the company Engr. Zaheer Uddin said “We have a head office in Karachi with our regional offices in Islamabad, Lahore and International office in Dubai. Our biggest clients are from the Pharmaceutical industry from where we get repeated business due to the reputation and level of work delivered with highest priorities. Our newest project includes Oncogen Pharma which is Pakistan’s first manufacturer exclusively for anti-cancer medicines,” he revealed
During the exclusive conversation, Engr. Zaheer Uddin explained the importance of the automation systems being installed in the buildings specifically for controlling of HVAC system as it consumes 70% of building electricity load. IMS engineering claims to reduce the energy consumption of the building by more than 30% which can lead to long term savings,” he explained. The efficiency and effectiveness of solutions provided by IMS engineering is reflected in their most recent project of GETZ Pharma Astola project. Pakistan’s largest facility for the manufacturing of medicines specifically designed according to the international standards. The industry is located in the Korangi industrial area and specifically designed for the export of medicine “We have automated more than 100 AHUs in the building. The project included Environment monitoring of more than 80 rooms including temperature, pressure & humidity. We have successfully completed the project according to the specifications of the client” he concluded.
