Housing & Works Division launches three development schemes in a delayed manner

The Housing & Works Division of the Federal Government is launching three development schemes, all of which pertain to Sindh province, rather in a delayed manner by allocating substantial funds during the ongoing financial year 2025-26.

Karachi Urban Infrastructure Development Package was approved by the Central Development Working Party (CDWP) in June 20223 for its implementation at an estimated cost of Rs 15000.000 million. Without any estimated expenditure till end June 2025, the project has now been allocated Rs 75000.000 million for starting work on it under the Public Sector Development Development Programme (PSDP) during the financial year 2025-26.

Likewise, Hyderabad Urban Infrastructure Development Package (Revamping & Rehabilitation) was also approved by the CDWP in June 2023 for its implementation at an estimated cost of Rs 5000.000 million. For starting work on it hopefully during the current financial year, an allocation of Rs 2500.000 million has been provided under the PSDP.

Project” Development Schemes Under PM’s Programme in Sindh Hyderabad and Mirpurkhas Division ” was approved by the Departmental Development Working Party (DDWP) in November 2021 for implementation at an estimated cost of Rs 1373.441 million.An estimated expenditure of Rs 708.519 million was reported to have been incurred on its implementation till end June 2025.

Against a throw-forward of Rs 654.93=22 million, the project has been allocated only R s 55.000 million under the PSDP for its continued implementation during the financial year 2025-26.
