The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry will hold a four-day international trade fair in October at Karachi, the country’s first and largest fair of this kind, the president of the FPCCI announced.
The fair, to be held from October 26 to 29 at Expo Centre, will be in collaboration with Badar Expo Solutions, the event organizers.
Addressing a press conference at Federation House, the FPCCI president, Zubair Tufail, said that the fair will open numerous opportunities for businesses and entrepreneurs to highlight their products, increase brand awareness of their products and strengthen relationships between companies.
Zubair Tufail said that 60 percent of stalls have already been booked and exhibitors from across Pakistan and from 20 foreign countries are expected to participate.
“This is a promising event fully endorsed by the Government of Pakistan through its ministries and the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan,” he said
A series of high-level investment and bilateral trade conferences and B2B matching events will be held concurrently, he added.
Hanif Gohar, chairman of the FPCCI’s Fair and Exhibition Standing Committee, said that a youth festival will take place on the sidelines of the exhibition.
S.M. Muneer, leader of the United Business Group, said that since its formation in 1950 the FPCCI has voiced the private sector’s collective opinions and concerns, and given helpful advice and assistance to the government in efforts to promote exports, encourage foreign investment and stimulate economic activity in the country.
Consisting of about 190 chambers and associations, the FPCCI deals with problems of trade, industry and environment, and safeguards the interests of the private sector through dialogue with the government, he added.
Haris Ali Mithani, member of the organizing committee of the fair, said the event will be a platform for companies and businesses from all branches of trade and commerce in Pakistan can highlight their products.
