ISLAMABAD: China National Nuclear Corp put its fourth reactor in Chashma project in Pakistan into operation and expected commercial operation to begin by end-August, the state-run nuclear power developer says on its website as reported by an international news agency.
The fourth unit has installed capacity of 340,000 kilowatts, bringing the total size of Chashma project to 1.3 million kilowatts. China has also agreed to invest $6.5 billion to build a reactor in Pakistan’s Karachi that will mark the overseas debut of China’s home-grown third-generation reactor design known as the Hualong One.
