Four Pakistani and Chinese companies sign agreement for 650 MW Solar Module Supply

Report by Engineering Post

China’s Tongwei Group has entered into a strategic cooperation agreement with three Pakistani companies namely Perfect services, Nimir Energy and Mateen Sons for the supply of 650 MW of solar modules.

According to the International Renewable Energy Agency, Pakistan receives over 3000 hours of sunlight annually, providing outstanding conditions for solar power generation. Historically speaking, Pakistan has depended only on thermal and hydroelectric power which together constituted approximately 50 percent of the energy mix. Quite obviously, this reliance has resulted in the creation of energy shortages and also raised serious environmental concerns.

Pakistan’s three prominent companies which have signed contracts with Tongwei Group of China possessed extensive experience in the development, investment, and operation of solar energy projects. Their decision to partner with the Chinese company for the 650MW solar module supply agreement reflected not only their acknowledgement of Tongwei Group’s leadership in the global solar industry but also showed their confidence in the quality and technological capabilities of Chinese products by and large.

Leveraging its robust research research and development capabilities, Tongwei Group has created tailored solutions which have been especially designed for the Pakistani market.

The TNC-G12/G12R series high-efficiency modules have quite successfully addressed various technological challenges to adapt to Pakistan’s distinctive plateau climate. These modules have already undergone UV120 and UV 300 testing and demonstrated outstanding UV resistance and also long -term stability in harsh climatic conditions of countries like Pakistan.
