The Capital Development Authority (CDA) is all set to construct a flyover on Sihala Kahuta road to remedy the chronic traffic congestion in the area.
CDA will construct the flyover under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP).
PC-I had been submitted to the ministry of interior for approval by the Development Working Party (DWP). The flyover will be constructed over the railway line at Sihala-Kahuta road at a distance of six kilometres from Kakpul. The cost of the project is estimated at Rs483 million.
The specifications listed for the bridge show that it will be 548.64 metres (1,800 feet)-long. Moreover, it will have an approach road that will be 274.32 metres (900 feet) long. The CDA has set a 12-month deadline to complete the project.
According to sources the project will be a sort of replica of the flyover constructed on Jinnah Avenue Islamabad.
