The tax collector’s notifications are still coming in despite the countrywide lockdown being observed. Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has not taken a day off and is busy in collecting taxes from the business and industrial community.
Chairman Pakistan Chemicals & Dyes Merchants Association (PCDMA) and former director Karachi Stock Exchange, Amin Yousuf Balgamwala has urged the Chairman FBR to waive all notices and all proceedings in this regard for 2 months due to the worst economic crisis being faced by the whole country.
Registering his surprise on receiving a tax notification despite the conditions the chairman PCDMA said that if all notices including income tax, sales tax, WHT and other proceeding not stopped for at least 2 months then the textile industry will badly be affected which is the backbone of the domestic economy as commercial importers are the largest means of providing raw materials to the textile industry to continue production activities.
