Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan has proposed the extension of Swat motorway from Chakdra to Mingora. This was propsed in a meeting attended by high ranking officials including Minister for Communications Akbar Ayub, Secretary Communications, Chief of Strategic Support Unit, MD Pakhtunkhwa Highways.
The meeting was briefed in detail about the proposed project covering 41 kilometres with an estimated cost of over Rs30 billion. Cost of the land to be acquired for the purpose and construction of the road include in the estimated cost. Two interchanges, three bridges, 43 culverts and 27 underpasses are proposed in the said project.
On the occasion, the chief minister hinted that the National Highway Authority would carry out the proposed project. He directed the relevant quarters to send papers to this effect to the federal government.
